Alebel Ashagrie

Alebel Ashagrie Endalew is a qualified lawyer with more than 6 years extensive experience in the Ethiopian legal sector.

Having served in the office of the Federal Attorney General as a Federal Public Prosecutor for four years, he has demonstrated high level of professionalism and character required for litigation and investigation techniques. He was representing the government and government agencies in international commercial and investment disputes in litigation and arbitration proceedings and served as an Arbitrator and Mediator of the Federal Attorney General Arbitral Tribunal in arbitrations and mediations between federal government institutions.

He was also served as an Assistant Judge at the Federal First Instance Court of Ethiopia for more than two years through which he was exposed to deal with very complex business and commercial transaction trials that enables him to widen his understanding to the business environment at large.

He founded Alebel Ashagrie & Associates Law Office in 2018 and acting as a Principal Attorney. He is specialized in arbitration matters (commercial and treaty-based), investment law, company incorporation, business negotiation, commercial and cross-border litigation, banking and insurance, trademark and related intellectual property laws, criminal and public law, and international contract/project work. He regularly works with and for clients from the energy, construction, technology, manufacturing, transportation, commodities and/or trade finance sector.

He possess excellent drafting skills and thoroughly up-to-date with relevant legislations. He also has an exemplary academic record, good communication skills, dispute resolution skills and an outgoing and determined personality.

He graduated, with great distinction, in 2012 and obtained his Bachelor of Laws (LLB) Degree from Wollo University. He received an Award of Congratulations from Oxford University in 2011 for his winning business proposal.

Minase Hailu

Consultant & Attorney at Law

 

Minase Hailu Workneh studied Law at Wollo University, graduated in 2012 and obtained a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) Degree. While he was in law school he represented Wollo University in the National Moot Court competition and finishing fourth in the university’s first ever participation in a National Moot Court competition.
After completing the training for prospective legal professionals jointly provided by the Federal and the Amhara National Regional State (ANRS) Research and Training Institutions for Prospective Legal Professionals he served as an Assistant District Attorney (ADA) in different districts in the ANRS. After serving as an ADA he was promoted and served as the head of the criminal division of a nationality district in the ANRS.
During his tenure in the District Attorneys’ Office; he participated in civil and criminal suits developing vast understanding of the Ethiopian legal system and sharpening his skills as a trial advocate.

For his noteworthy discharge of his professional duties he has received commendation for exceptional clearance and conviction rates. As an ADA he has served as a trainer in legal familiarization trainings prepared for the public and authored the familiarization training manual for criminal law for the district he was appointed in, which required a thorough and updated knowledge of substantive and procedural laws in addition to comprehensive research skills.
After his departure from public office Minase Hailu Workneh is currently a Federal Consultant & Attorney at Law, with extensive experience and expertise offering legal consultancy and advocacy services to our clients on criminal matters, investment law, business and company law, contract drafting and negotiation, family and succession, employment and labor law.
He is currently in the final stages of obtaining a Master of Laws degree in Human Rights from the University of South Africa and Master of Business Administration degree from Leadstar University.

Tsegaye Demessie

Consultant & Attorney at Law

Tsegaye Demessie Olonje graduated, with distinction, in 2012 and obtained a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) Degree from Mekelle University. His outstanding academic performance and his experience gained through his participation in extra-curricular activities enabled him to join the Federal High Court of Ethiopia just after graduation and he had worked there for two years as an Assistant Judge.

During his stay at the Federal High Court, civil bench, which entertains cases related to contract, intellectual property, private international law, business organizations, investment issues and other related cases, he had the exposure to deal with very sophisticated legal issues in the fields and acquired ample experiences.

He has also served as a Federal Public Prosecutor at the Federal Attorney General for more than three years and actively engaged in the investigation and prosecution of grave corruption and economic crimes committed on different mega projects.

Currently, he is working as a Consultant & Attorney at Law at all levels of federal courts and in the State Court of Southern Nations Nationalities and Peoples. He advises and represents companies in the fields of intellectual property, energy & infrastructure, telecommunications, mergers & acquisitions as well as on white collar crime and regulatory compliance.

He is currently in the final stages of obtaining a Master of Laws (LLM) Degree in Business Law from Addis Ababa University and MA in Organizational Leadership from MY Management & Leadership College.

Yehualawork Teketelew

Consultant & Attorney at Law

Yehualawork Teketelew Kidanewold holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) Degree from Addis Ababa University.

He worked for the Federal High Court of Ethiopia as an Assistant Judge for five years mainly in civil & commercial benches for disputes arising out of commercial contracts, torts, insurance, joint ventures and construction projects. Much of his practice involves complex factual and expert evidence. He also served in labor and criminal benches and obtained extensive experiences in employment issues and tax offences.

He is currently working as a Consultant & Attorney at Law at all levels of federal courts. He advises and represents companies in the fields of contract law, employment law, tax and investment, real estate and construction.
